Gautam Godse is the founder of Appmosis, Inc., focused on building the
next generation communications app for the Mac & iOS platform and also
consults with various companies for their iOS solutions. He is a software engineer and a serial entrepreneur, having launched his
first startup, JabberWocky BBS in 1994, right out of college. The BBS was
extremely successful and grew to over 5000 subscribers by 1997. In 1997, he
parlayed the BBS into WMINet, India's first private ISP.
His next company, moreLinux, founded in 1998, built desktop applications for the Linux operating system. He finally had an opportunity to move to the US in 2000, to setup moreLinux Inc. Within six months he negotiated a sale of moreLinux to Chilliware Inc. in Los Angeles.
Subsequently he joined HeyAnita Inc. and worked with Sanjeev Kuwadekar and his team to build the next generation of voice recognition applications for the mobile platform. After the company was sold in 2005, Gautam had an opportunity to go back to his dial-up ISP roots and joined NetZero Inc., the world's first free ISP. He innovated quite a few online products at NetZero, including NetZero Games, Security Suite and Cash Payment (an industry first for an ISP).
He joined Yahoo! in 2008 and worked in the Search Marketing team that was acquired later by Microsoft. In 2009, he partnered with Big Nerd Ranch and built a software division for developing iOS applications. He lead a team that built 5 branded iOS apps and consulted with companies such as Ben & Jerry's, Teavana, Sears and helped them build their iOS mobile solutions.
In 2010 he co-founded & mentored gingerCube, Inc. and built maxRVU, a mobile coding and billing solution for physicians. The product was launched in Jan 2011 and has a strong installed subscriber base.
He thrives on entrepreneurship and likes to share his knowledge on all things 'startup' - from choosing a CPA to logo design, cloud architecture and raising funding. He has mentored quite a few entrepreneurs and startups in the US & India and has been 'disruptive' way before it became a meme.
He is a Mac fanatic and lives in Monrovia, CA with his wife and two daughters and a dog, appropriately named Cocoa.
