Yarone Goren
Yarone Goren builds, launches, and grows technology startups, including co-founding Zumbox and Academy123. While he's working on ideas for his next startup, he's helping other founders get their startups off the ground. This usually starts by helping them nail their product strategy and specs. Yarone specializes in Product Strategy, Product Design, User Interfaces, Usability, Human Computer Interaction, Technology, and Business Development.

Yarone Goren is an internet and software entrepreneur who has started and built a number of successful companies that share a common theme – introducing transformative products into established markets.

In 2007, Yarone co-founded Zumbox, the worldwide technology leader in digital postal mail.  Zumbox connects large transactional, financial and government mailers to consumer households for the delivery and storage of digital postal mail via the Internet. Outside of the U.S., the Zumbox technology platform is licensed to national posts and other postal operators. The company has raised over $10MM.

In 2004 Yarone co-founded Academy123, an online education company that was acquired by Discovery Education in 2006. At Academy123, Yarone led the company’s strategic operations and held various executive roles. Academy123 offers an online education platform for the rapid development and delivery of multimedia content. The company pioneered the “listen and view” instructional format that was later popularized by Khan Academy. It's core product, NutshellMath, enabled hundreds of teachers to work from home and record over 50,000 mini-videos aligned with the most commonly-used math textbooks in the U.S.

Prior to Academy123, Yarone was at Bertelsmann Ventures (now BV Capital) where he served as an advisor to the firm's General Partners, driving the research and analysis of multiple early stage technology companies. Yarone began his career as a Software Engineer, designing and developing enterprise and retail software applications in the Automotive, Healthcare, Government, and Education industries.

Yarone holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from C.S.U. Northridge.
